Potatoe Famine & The Boys

If you ever find yourself in remote Tullaroan Ireland on a Saturday night, I highly recommend a complete reevaluation of your entire life….but that being said….

Having, LITERALLY, nothing left to lose you should visit Seanie’s Pub ( which is also the local post office, convenience store, liquor mart, pharmacy and hair care center).

If they are sober enough to crawl on stage, you can slam to the musical stylings of Potatoe Famine & The Boys. ( no, I don’t KNOW the bands real name…I don’t speak Gallic so it’s my name for them but it really it fits ). They play traditional Irish music on traditional Irish instruments.

Traditional Irish music is any music so tragic and sad that makes throwing yourself off the nearest cliff seem like a good idea. Traditional Irish instruments are anything that can be played passably well while blackout drunk.

The 13 locals and myself were enraptured by such hits as:

“I’m Irish and I want to die.”

“We’re starving but can still complain.”

“The Testicular Cancer Waltz”

Again, I don’t speak Gallic but I will vouch for the set list.
