Wayne's Adventure (In Motion)

The goal was never to complete the 3,300 miles of the Continental Divide Trail in a single year. The Battan Death March held more appeal and likely more survivability.

I went farther and faster than anyone 3 decades younger than me. By the end, I felt every day of my 62 years plus a century or so.

The goal was to complete the dreaded 900 mile desert of New Mexico and climb, hopefully alive, into the high Rockies of Colorado. Chama was always the goal.

n July 20th 2024, I completed my 2024 goal as I arrived at the Colorado gravesite of my lifelong friend, high school sweetheart, and the voice that serves as my conscience in the Greek chorus that lives in my head… Renee. I spent the day with her, filling her in on all that has happened with myself and her children. Then it was time to go home.

But I am issuing a proclamation: “Hey CDT, I SHALL RETURN”.
